Anniversary of the consecration of the church of Theotokos in Buenos Aires

On Sunday, September 12, 2011 on the feast day of Holy Martyrs Zenobia and Zenobius, Venerable Teoctista (king Dragutin) and Jelena, the Righteous king Milutin and martyr Barnabas of Hvosno, in the church of the Nativity of Most Holy Theotokos in Buenos Aires was celebrated 16 years since the consecration of this church by the service of then competent bishop for the parishes of the Serbian Orthodox Church in South America, His Grace Bishop Mitrofan of East America.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy on the occasion of the anniversary of the consecration of the church was served by His Eminence Amfilohije Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, administrator of the newly-formed Diocese of Buenos Aires of the Serbian Patriarchate, with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops: Metropolitan Terasion of Buenos Aires and egzarchos ofthe Constantinople Patriarchate for South America, Metropolitan Platonos of Argentina and South America and Bishop John of Caracas and South America from the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (Moscow Patriarchate).

The Holy Liturgy was attended also by believers from other Orthodox communities of Buenos Aires, so during the church service, except Serbian one could heard Spanish, Church Slavonic and Greek .
