Anniversary of suffering of Serbs in Gracanica, Kosovo and Metohija marked
With the memorial service on the cemetary in Gracanica the eighth anniversary of the murder of the Serbian young man Dimitrije Popovic was marked. After the memorial service, the family, friends and pals of the murderd Dimitrije laid flowers and lit candles in front of the chapel in downtown Gracanica. Seventeen year old Popovic, pupil of the school of Medicine, was killed in a drive-by shooting, while he was standing with three friends at a fast food kiosk.
Besides Dimitrije, who was shot in the head and who died immediately, there were no casualties. Albanians from Pristina, Albert Krasnici and Labinot Gashi were charged with the murder. Gashi was released and underage Krasnici was sentenced to six years in prison.
