Antique culture, European and Serbian heritage
On Friday, September 25 at the amphitheater of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology an international scientific symposium was opened " Antique culture, European and Serbian heritage" organized by the Society for antique studies, which president, professor Dr. Ksenija Maricki-Gadjanski organizes and runs this meeting. His Grace Bishop Dr. Irinej Bulovic of Bachka, a dean of the faculty, opened the symposion, and after that academician Dimitrije Stefanovic presented Carl Joachim Classen a Charter of Matica srpska and addressed the audience in Serbian and German.
Professor Dr. Ksenija Maricki-Gadjanski greeted the audience, pointing at the connection of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology with the University and emphasizing the fact that the Faculty is a host of the first day of the Symposium is yet another confirmation of the return of the Faculty within the University. Professor Koncharevic presented the Department of Philology and introduced the history of the Faculty to the audience. Later during the morning session Professor Classen thanked for the Charter, greeted the audience and gave a lecture on "Christian Literature - Pagan Rhetorica - Modern Exegesis."
The afternoon work of the symposium was organized in sessions: "Philosophy and Law", " Language, Folklore and Literature", "Art and Archeology".
