Archbishop Ieronymos: The Church creates and educates the personalities we all need
“The Church creates and educates the personalities we all need,” said Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece during the inauguration ceremony of the new premises of the primary school under the auspices of the Transfiguration Church in Vrilissia, Varympompi.
Metropolitans Athinagoras of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupoli, and Ioannis of Thermopylae attended the ceremony. The Archbishop was accompanied by the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Athens, Bishop Symeon of Thespies.
The Archbishop spoke of the important work carried out the educational institutions of the Church of Greece and wished everyone to continue this effort.
In another instant, the Archbishop emphasized that the wisdom of God should be combined with the wisdom of the letters, in order to create talented people, while calling on the attendant crowd to cultivate their talents and not keep them for themselves, because this is a heresy, but to offer them to other people.
Concluding his address, the Archbishop noted that the Church created and educated the personalities we all need, and hoped that other parishes would establish similar educational structures.
