The Archdiocese of Sibiu has inaugurated a Centre for Neuro-motor Rehabilitation
The Archdiocese of Sibiu has recently founded a modern Centre for Neuro-motor Rehabilitation and Psychological Counselling. The institution provides free services for the persons with limited financial possibilities. The Centre dedicated to St Nektarios of Aegina was inaugurated by His Eminence Laurenţiu, Metropolitan of Transylvania, on Monday, 09 November 2015.
The ambulatory Centre for Neuro-motor Rehabilitation St Nektarios is located close to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sibiu, on A. D. Xenopol Str., and provides services of kinetotherapy, speech therapy and psychological counselling. The personnel qualified for such services will provide specialized therapy and counselling for persons with low incomes, for different families and children who need these services and do not have material possibilities in order to pay for treatment packages at other medical centres.
The blessing of the Rehabilitation Centre was performed by His Eminence Metropolitan Laurenţiu, surrounded by an assembly of priests and deacons. In this event also took part: Rev. Fr. Nicolae Rusu, social adviser of the Archdiocese of Sibiu; Rev. Fr. Petru Madina, economic adviser of the Archdiocese; the staff of the Department for Social Assistance of the Archdiocese; the personnel of the Centre, as well as other guests. After the blessing, the Metropolitan of Transylvania thanked all those involved in equipping and opening this Centre, and wished the employees to successfully carry out their activities for helping the suffering fellow men.
The persons who will take benefit from the services of the Rehabilitation Centre are people of different ages with low incomes having locomotor disorders or other medical problems.
