The Ascension of the Lord – Patron Feast of the City of Belgrade
The Divine Liturgy celebrated in the church of the Ascension of the Lord in Belgrade and a solemn procession through central streets of the City of Belgrade marked Belgrade’s Patronal feast – Ascension of the Lord on 17 May 2018. Holy Liturgy was presided over by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Irinej with the concelebration of Their Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and the Midwestern America (Russian Orthodox Church), protopresbyter-staurophor Professor Dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic, Vajo Jovic and Milosav Radojevic, protopresbyter Aleksandar Mihajlovic presbyter Slavisa Popovic and Predrag Timotijevic, deacon Stevica Rapajic and Igor Davidovic.
The procession was organized through the streets of the capital city, with the participation of Prince Aleksandar and Princess Katarina Karadjordjevic; Chief of the Office for Religions in the General Staff of the Serbian Army Mileta Radojevic, PhD; Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Mr. Andreja Mladenovic; representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces and Police, as well as many priets of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac and thousands of pious people of the capital.
