“Athanasius the Great” School of Patriarchate of Alexandria reopens
“Athanasius the Great’ School reopens tomorrow with 10 African students”, announced Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria today at the Monastery of Saint Savvas.
The Greek Ministry of Education announced through Education Coordinator of Northern Africa and the Middle East Dimitris Giannikopoulos that it would soon examine the way the School could operate and supported by teachers sent from Greece.
The students will be taking church, nursing and agronomy courses by Greek and Egyptian teachers and executives of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. It is noteworthy that most of the students speak Greek very well and have also good knowledge of Byzantine music from seminars they have attended at the local Metropolises of Africa.
