Bishop Atanasije serves at Vavedenje Monastery
His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served on Saturday, September 24 2011 the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the monastery of Vavedenje.
On this occasion the Bishop cut the slava cake and consecrated a great candle room and a porch in this Belgrade's monastery. He was concelebrated by many priests and deacons. On that day the Church celebrated Venerable Theodora of Alexandria, St. Paphnutius of Thebes, a bishop from Egypt, martyr Ia from Persia and Saint Euphrosynus, the cook in a monastery of Amorea.
Sister Theodora, a nun of the monastery of Vavedenje celebrated on this day her namesday, Venerable Theodora, hence she prepared a slava cake, and the sisterhood of the monastery accepted that day as its Patron Saint's Day. The cake was blessed by Bishop Atanasije and after that he consecrated the candle room. Following that he consecrated the big porch and held a sermon.
