Bishop David of Stobi serves in Johannesburg

His Grace Bishop David of Stobi and locum tenens of Strumice visited Johanessburg on the occasion of the church slava and 35th anniversary of the jubilee of the church of Saint Thomas the Apostle, which dean is archimandrite Pantaleon

On 16 October, His Eminence Metropolitan Damascinos of Johanessburg and Pretoria from the Patriarchate of Alexandria received His Grace Bishop David of Stobi and in his honor the doxology was served. Bishop David conveyed the greetings of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and informed Metropolitan with the sufferings that His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje Jovan endures.

On the occasion of Saint Thomas the Apostle the evening service, that was served by many priests, was attended by lots of believers from Johannesburg.

The feast day of Saint Thomas the Apostle was celebrated solemnly. Bishop David of Stobi officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Metropolitan Damascinos of Johannesburg and Pretoria. Many priests from parishes of Johannesburg and Pretoria concelebrated at the Liturgy. Both hierarchs held sermons. Metropolitan Damascinos talked about unjust imprisonment of Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid. He also on behalf of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa expressed joy since the arrival of Bishop David in Johannesburg and Liturgical service, as a visual sign of unity and conciliarity of our Church.
