Bishop Hrizostom visits Monastery Sase for the first time

The old medieval monastery Sase near Srebrenica, the endowment of King Stephen Uros, on 14 September was visited for the first time by His Grace Bishop Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla, with entourage. 

This old monastery (XIII century), was named after the mining village Sase- which was inhabited by miners, the Saxons  from Germany who worked in the Middle Ages in the mines of Serbian Osat (now Srebrenica) and Skelane and their broader surroundings. This monastery today represents true refreshment both spiritual and visual. The new architectural design of this monastery best suits its name - Sase (Saxon), since it resembles overwhelmingly the building culture of the Saxons in their primeval homeland. 

Showing respect to this sanctity of this holy family, His Grace Bishop Hrizostom was informed by the brotherhood of this monastery about the history of this sacred place, and about the future plans and projects that brotherhood intend to realize.
