Bishop Irinej visits dioceses in Croatia and BiH

Zagreb - On Wednesday, 16 March 2013, Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana met with Bishop Irinej of Backa. Metropolitan Jovan informed Bishop Irinej with the condition of our Church and the faithful on the territory of the Metropolitanate of Zagreb-Ljubljana. On this occasion Bishop Irinej of Backa handed over a pateritsa to the Metropolitan.

Karlovac – On Friday, 15 March 2013, Bishop Irinej of Backa met with Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac at the Diocese in Karlovac. Bishop Irinej of Backa along with the host visited the Cathedral Church of Saint Nicholas in Karlovac and then the building of the parish and the Episcopal palace mined during the last war. During the brotherly talk on life of the Church, Bishop Gerasim informed Bishop Irinej about the spiritual stand of the Serbian people on the territory of the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac.

Krka Monastery – On Thursday, 14 March 2013, Bishop Irinej of Backa visited the Diocese of Dalmatia. Doxology to Bishop Irinej was served at the Krka monastery. His Grace was welcomed there by Bishop Fotije of Dalmatia who also pointed out that Krka monastery was spiritual and educational center of the Diocese of Dalmatia and that the Serbian Church, clergy and monks bore big cross of the testimony of Orthodoxy in Dalmatia. Bishop Irinej, as the member of the Holy Synod who is in charge of education, expressed his satisfaction with the work of the Seminary “Holy Three Hierarchs”. Besides Krka monastery Bishop Irinej also visited the seat of the Diocese of Dalmatia in Sibenik, where he was informed by Bishop Fotije about other important issues regarding the life and the work of this Diocese as well as the life of the Orthodox Serbs in Dalmatia.

Monastery of Rmanj – Bishop Dr Irinej of Backa visited the monastery of Rmanj on 13 and 14 March 2013. His Grace was accompanied by hieromonk Isihije, brother of the monastery of Kovilj. Bishop Hrizostom of Petrovac, who was a host, welcomed Bishop Irinej at the Episcopal palace in Bosanski Petrovac.
