Bishop Jovan of Ulpiana in Holy Land
His Grace Bishop Jovan of Ulpiana, Vicar of Serbian Patriarch, from November 17-24 2013 paid a visit to the Holy City of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
On this occasion Bishop Jovan was received by His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine and had a long and cordial discussion with him.
His Beatitude talked with appreciation about recent Pan-Orthodox gathering in Belgrade, Nis and Podgorica and fraternal hospitality of the Serbian Patriarch and the Serbian Church.
Upon the invitation of His Beatitude, Bishop Jovan with five hierarchs of the Church of Jerusalem concelebrated to Patriarch Teophilos on the feast-day of Saint Michael the Archangel in the Holy Archangel Monastery in biblical town of Jaffa. The service was performed in Greek, Arabic, Slavic and Romanian.
As a coordinator of the Committee for Jasenovac of the Holy Assembly of Bishops, Bishop Jovan of Ulpiana visited the Yad Vashem memorial. The Committee for Jasenovac has had longtime fruitful cooperation with the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its director Dr. Efraim Zuroff.
