Bishop Lavrentije buried at Soko Grad Monastery

Blessed is the path you are taking today, Bishop and Father Lavrentije, because a final resting place has been prepared for you! 

In the afternoon, a prayerful procession with the earthly remains of  Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac of blessed repose, in which His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch with Their Graces hierarchs, numerous priests and faithful people took part from the Sabac Cathedral Church, reached the Soko Grad Monastery, the endowment and eternal resting place of the newly departed Bishop.

In the monastery of Soko Grad, in addition to the entire clergy and monks of the Diocese of Sabac and other dioceses of the Serbian Church, several hundred faithful welcomed their bishop. A small memorial service was held in the monastery church of the Holy Bishop Nikolaj of Ohrid and Zica for the soul of the newly departed hierarch of Sabac and endower and founder of that monastery, which like a precious pearl spiritually illuminates this beautiful landscape of the blessed Serbian land.

Above the place of burial behind the altar of the monastery church, with the blessing of His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Jerotej of Toplica, the Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, celebrated a small memorial service. His Grace Bishop Justin of Hvosno,  as well as presbyters and deacons of the Diocese of Sabac and other dioceses concelebrated to the Bishop.

The earthly remains of the zealous archbishop who contributed to the establishment of dioceses in Central and Western Europe, Scandinavia, Great Britain, and distant Australia, were buried behind the altar of the monastery church with great respect and love. Eternal remembrance of the blessed and memorable Bishop Lavrentije!
