Bishop Longin Celebrates Paschal Services in Chicagoland
His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America celebrated the first day of Pascha by serving Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois, where the parish's Slava was celebrated. Serving with Bishop Longin were Archpriest-Stavrophor Dennis Pavichevich, Priests Darko Spasojevic, Radovan Jakovljevic and Vasilije Vranic, and Deacons Damjan Bozic and Nikolaj Kostur.
Hundreds filled the church, with the S.S.S. Branko Radicevich Choir responding. At the end of Divine Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Longin blessed the Slava Kolach and then the Paschal Eggs. He greeted all with the Lord's Resurrection, the Feast of feasts, and bestowed God's blessing on all present. After the Divine Liturgy, His Grace returned to New Gracanica Monastery in order to be present at the Traditional Monastery Paschal Luncheon, with over 500 people in attendance.
On the second day of Pascha, Bishop Longin served Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at St. Sava Monastery in Libertyville, Illinois. Serving with His Grace were Hieromonk Serafim, Priest Petar Sailovic and Deacon Nikolaj Kostur. The Seminary Choir sang responses and served in the Altar.
On the third day of Pascha, His Grace Bishop Longin served Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at New Gracanica Monastery in Third Lake, Illinois, with His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland (ROCOR) concelebrating. Serving with the Bishops were Archimandrite Thomas Kazich, Archpriest-Stavrophor Milorad Loncar, Archpriest Andrei Papkov, Hieromonk Serafim, Priest Petar Sailovic and Deacon Nikolaj Kostur.
