Bishop of Pozega and Bishop of Slavonia visited the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac

On 15 January 2021, Bishop of Pozega Msgr.  Antun Skvorcevic, PhD, and His Grace Bishop Jovan of Slavonia accompanied by the host, His Eminence Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, visited the territory of the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac affected by a series of devastating earthquakes in December 2020.

The Bishops and the Bishop Skvorcevic visited the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Glina, after which they visited the Vekic and Nogic families in the village of Ravno Rascee, as well as the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in the village of Majske Poljane, which was completely destroyed after the earthquake.

On the way back, they visited the Cathedral church of the Holy Father Nicholas in Karlovac, where they were welcomed by Archimandrite Naum, MA, the head of the church  Archpriest Darko Dugonjic, and the Secretary of the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac, Deacon Budimir Kokotovic. For all guests, a reception and a table of love was organized at the Diocesan Court.

Bishop Gerasim informed the distinguished guests about the consequences of the earthquake and the suffering of the people and sanctities on the territory of his Diocese. Bishops Jovan and Gerasim and Bishop Skvorcevic exchanged views in cordial talks on help and support for Banija families whose existence is endangered by recent earthquakes. On that occasion, Bishop Gerasim thanked the distinguished guests for their visit, and expressed special gratitude to the Bishop of Pozega, Msgr. Antun Skvorcevic, PhD on financial support to the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac.
