Bishop Teodosije meets with NATO Chief Commander in Europe
His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren received in the monastery of Gracanica the Chief Commander of NATO in Europe, U.S. Admiral James Stavridis on 17 December 2012. Admiral Stavridis was accompanied by KFOR Commander Major General Folker Halbauer with his associates. Bishop Teodosije informed the NATO high officers with his point of view of the security situation of the Serbian people and its sacred places in Kosovo and Metohia. He also conveyed the concern of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church about the KFOR announcement of leaving the security of this monastery to the Kosovo police.
Admiral Stavridis said that the security of the people and shrines of the Serbian Orthodox Church will continue to be the most important priority for KFOR in Kosovo and Metohia. Admiral Stavridis also said that as an Orthodox Christian and the descendant of the Greek exiles from Asia Minor deeply felt the significance of the Christian shrines in Kosovo and Metohia and the need of its protection.
