Bishop Teodosije receives Herman Van Rompuy

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije, the locum tenens of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija, Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan received today on July 6, 2010 in the monastery of Visoki Dechani Herman Van Rompuy, the President of the European Council. After the tour of the Dechani church and an introduction to the history of the monastery Bishop Teodosije informed the EU high representative on the conditions in which were Serbian orthodox sanctuaries in Kosovo and Metohija and the problems that the faithful people had.

It is particularly stressed a need for protection of the sanctuaries of the SOC in coordination with the EU Special Advisor for the issues of Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo Dimitris Moshopulosom, as well as taking further steps to facilitate the peaceful and undisturbed life of the monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the preservation of Serbian Orthodox identity of Serbian spiritual and cultural heritage.
