Bishop Teodosije serves the Liturgy in Gojbulja and visits Vucitrn
Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija served yesterday the Divine Liturgy in a village of Gojbulja, the municipality of Vucitrn. This Serbian village at the foot of Kopaonik is one of the four left Serbian villages in the Vucitrn area and today there are 300 residents. The village is even mentioned in the Middle Ages and an old church of St. Petka. The new church devoted to this saint was built on the site of the old church in 1986. This is the first Liturgy in this village which Bishop Teodosije served as the Diocesan Bishop.
After the Liturgy Bishop Teodosije along with hierarchal deputy of Mitrovica and local parish priest also visited the church in Vucitrn which was burnt in the March pogrom in 2004. The church, parish house and the people's refectory are restored, but there is much effort left for the restoration of the interior of the church and to make this church available for regular services. What makes the situation even harder regarding the return of the parish priest to Vucitrn is that there is no Serbian left in this town.
