Bishop Vasilije consecrated restored church in Vasica

Bishop Vasilije: Владика сремски Василије: Lent combined with prayer and good deeds raises the soul of man to God into the eternal and imperishable Kingdom of God.

On Cheesefare Sunday, 14 March 2021, His Grace Bishop Vasilije of Srem,accompanied by diocesan dean of Sid protopresbyter-staurophor Radomir S. Misic and an officer of the DSC and deacon Goran Vlasac, paid a canonical visit to the church municipality of Vasica, where he served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy and consecrated the restored parish church of Holy Martyr George.

Besides the priests who accompanied the Bishop, during the Liturgy also protopresbyter-staurophor Velizar Zivkovic, retired parish priest of Sremski Karlovci; presbyter Slobodan Vujasinovic, parish and diocesan dean of Sremski Karlovci; and the host, protonamesnik Ratko Nonkovic concelebrated. The students of the Karlovci Seminary sang responses.

Praising the diligent parishioners of the village of Vasice, led by their honorable parish priest, for their work, care, and selfless care for the beauty and arrangement of their church, His Grace Bishop ordaned the parish priest Ratko Nonkovic to the rank of archpriest, while Mrs. Zoran Petrov was awarded with the bishop's Certificate of commendation for the selfless love and help in the renovation of the church, and awarded Mrs. Milica Golubovic with the Order of the Holy Mother Angelina for her motherhood.
