Brilliant celebration at St. Cosmas Monastery in Kolkondas, Albania
Archbishop Anastasios of Albania officiated the Divine Liturgy at St. Cosmas Monastery in Kolkondas, Fieri county, Albania, where his tomb is situated, on the day of the Saint’s martyrdom.
The Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church presided over the Divine Liturgy, assisted by Metropolitans Ignatios of Verati, Nikolaos of Apollonia and Fieri, and Nathaniel of Amantia.
The monastery at Kolkondas was swarmed by the faithful, not only from various parts of Albania, but also from Greece.
Last but not least, on the eve of the Feast, on the banks of the river Seaman, near the village of Mougiali, where on August 24, 1779, Saint Cosmas was hanged, the Vesper was held by Metropolitan Nikolaos of Apollonia and Fieri.
