Bulgarian Church marks Repose of St. pious Alexander Nevsky
The Bulgarian Church marked on November 23, 2011 the feast dedicated to the Repose of pious St. Alexander Nevsky - both saintly Soldier-Prince, political leader of Russia and an example to all Orthodox people belonging to faith, heart and life of the one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
Therefore, yesterday in the Patriarchal Cathedral "St. Alexander Nevski " in Sofia was very solemn. On the occasion of the celebration in the church in the presence of numerous faithful people the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served. At the Liturgy there were His Holiness Metropolitan of Sofia and Patriarch of Bulgaria Maxim, His Eminence Bishop Josif of the United States, Canada and Australia, Their Graces: Bishop Nahum of Stobiy, Secretary of the Holy Synod, Bishop John of Znepol - vicar of the Metropolitan of Sofia, Bishop Tikhon of Tiveriopol - Chairman of OCC "St. Alexander Nevski ", Constantine of Markianopol, arhimandrite Theophanes and arhimandrite Dionysus - Head of Synodical Department "Liturgy" , representatives of the Romanian Church and other priests of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
With the blessing of His Holiness Bulgarian Patriarch, Bishop Josif led the Liturgy in the presence of the believers, gathered in tribute to St. Prince-Soldier in this sacred Cathedral church devoted to him, which is the spiritual symbol of the Bulgarian Patriarchate.
