Camp Gracanica 2011 season finishes

On July 30th, another successful season of Camp Gracanica came to an end. The camp opened on July 3rd. The theme of this season was Temples of the Holy Spirit. Along with the usual socializing and entertainment activities,campers attended classes and discussions where we learned that each one of us is a temple of the Holy Spirit and how we ought to live in order to make ourselves worthy of such a blessing and a privilege.

Weeks two and three were filled to the maximum capacity,with waiting lists. Week four,the teen week,also came very close to being filled to the maximum. A great blessing of this season was the visit of two other camps to Camp Gracanica –Saint Sava Camp from Libertyville and ORPR Russian Camp from Rockford. The visit took place on the day of the Three-Handed Icon of the Mother of God,July 25th. All the campers attended Liturgy together and afterwards enjoyed the fun and games on the camp grounds. We thank all those who helped with the coordination of this beautiful visit and we hope for many more.
