Celebration of the feast day of Holy Prophet Elijah at the monastery of Prohor Pcinjski

Holy liturgies are served on the occasion of the Holy Prophet Elijah in all temples of the Orthodox diocese of Vranje. The holiday is especially marked at the monastery of St Prohor Pcinjski because traditionally on this day at the monastery there is lots of people. His Grace Bishop Irinej of Bachka, the envoy of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church and His Grace Bishop Pahomije of Vranje,served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the presence of a great number of the faithful.

At the end of the Holy Hierarchal liturgy with the approve and expressed good will of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the competent diocese Hierarch Bishop Pahomije of Vranje, the monastery of St Prohor Pcinjski , on the occasion of the 65 years since ASNOM,was visited by the high delegation of the Republic of Macedonia led by Trajko Veljanovski, the president of Macedonian Assembly, followed also by Antonije Miloshoski, minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia and Ljubisha Georgijevski, the ambassador of Macedonia in Serbia.

Bishops Irinej of Bachka and Pahomije of Vranje welcomed the state delegation of the Republic of Macedonia, in front of the monastery, with the head of the county of Pchinje Budimir Mihajlovic, and then the members of the Macedonian state delegation put a wreath and flowers in the chapel in front of the monastery. After that Bishops Irinej and Pahomije received the official delegation from the Republic of Macedonia at the church of St Prohor Pcinjski.

Then they stayed to talk for a half an hour at the refectory of the monastery of St Prohor Pcinjski. At first, Bishop Pahomije welcomed the guests, as the competent bishop, a then His Grace Bishop Irinej of Bachka did the same, as the envoy of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Trajko Veljanovski, the president of Macedonian Assembly, on behalf of the delegation of the Republic of Macedonia thanked for the cordial reception to the hosts.

When the offical delegation of the Republic of Macedonia left, Bishops Irinej and Pahomije received also the representatives of the Society of Serbian-Macedonian friendship "Goce Delcev" and had cordial talks.
