Celebration of the feast day of Venerable Prohor of Pcinja

On the feast day of Saint Prohor of Pcinja, two Bishops of our local Church served the Divine Liturgy in the monastery of Prohor of Pcinja.

This great celebration began on Monday, October 31 with a holiday's vigil service in the monastery of Prohor of Pcijna, which was served by His Grace Bishop Dr David of Krusevac with priests and monks of the Diocese of Vranje and Krusevac.

On the same day of our Venerable father Prohor of Pcinja, on November 1, the Divine Liturgy was served by Bishop David of Krusevac with the concelebration of the host Bishop Pahomije of Vranje, hieromonk Damaskin, the abbot of the Naupare monastery and hieromonk Tihon, the head of the monastery of Mrzenica, the Diocese of Krusevac; monks and priests of the diocese of Vranje, and with a prayerful participation of a great number of Orthodox believers. 

After the Holy service there was a procession around the church. Following the procession there was a cutting of slava cake, while the monastery cake was cut by Bishop David of Krusevac and the head of the monastery of St. Prohor of Pcinja, hieromonk Nikolaj.

Later in the afternoon, Bishop David and Bishop Pahomije visited the monastery of St. Nicholas, a metochion of the Hilandar monastery in Vranje, also the Pan-Orthodox centre " Venerable Justin of Celije and Vranje" within which are the birth house and a church dedicated to our newest saint, as well as the Cathedral church of Holy Trinity in Vranje and the "Iskon" Radio of the Orthodox diocese of Vranje.
