Celebration of Lazarus Saturday at the MMA in Belgrade

His Eminence Archbishop Amfilohije of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral has served today on the holiday of Lazarus Saturday Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at a new-established side chapel at the MMA in Belgrade which is dedicated to St. Luke Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea, the saint, surgeon, painter and hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church of the 20th century. His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia also took part in the liturgy, who celebrated by praying his family patron saint.

The liturgy was attended also by Bishop Vasilije of Zvornik and Tuzla, minister of faith in the Government of Serbia Bogoljub Shijakovic, consultant of the President of the Republic of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohia Mladen Djordjevic, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Damjan Krnjevic, member of the Crown Council Dragoljub Acovic, Proto-Master of the St.Sava's Cathedral professor Vojislav Mihajlovic, as well as a great number of doctors and patients of the Military Medical Academy led by Major-general Prof. Dr Miodrag Jevtic, the head of this institution. Archbishop served the liturgy with the concelebration of protopresbyter-staurophor Savo Jovic, protopresbyter-stauropho rVladimir Vukashinovic, hieromonk Metodije (Ostojic), presbyter Nebojsa Topolic, head of the side chapel, as well as protodeacon Stevan Rapajic and hierodeacon  Jovan (Panic). Archimandrites Jovan (Radosavljevic) and Danilo (Ljubotina), spiritual father of the side chapel protopresbyter-staurophor Ratko Savic, abbess Anastazija of the church of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple with convent sisterhood and many faithful people were present as well.

After the Sacrament of communion, Metropolitan Amfilohije cut the slava cake to His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia congratulating him his Patron saint day and wished him a long and healthy life and all good from the Lord. After that there was a presentation of the Order of St. Sava of the Second Degree to the head of this institution Major-general Prof. Dr Miodrag Jevtic.
