Celebration of the Martyrs of Perebilovci and the Lower Herzegovina

Festal liturgical gathering in the church of the Resurrection of Christ at Perebilovci

The celebration of the Holy Martyrs of Prebilovci began on the eve of the feast-day with an evening worship service celebrated by Archimandrite Lazar from the Zitomislic monastery together with Revd. Branimir Borovcanin, parish priest of Blagaj, in the Prebilovci church.

After the liturgical service, Mrs. Mira Lolic Mocevic and prof. Dear Mastilovic presented the project "The Holy Martyrs of Jasenovac in the Light of the Resurrection", written by a nun from the monastery of Jasenovac.

On the feast-day, the Holy hierarchal Liturgy was served by Bishops Dimitrije of Zaholm-Herzegovina and retired Bihop Athanasije, with many clergymen from many dioceses and with prayerful participation of  a huge congregation.

During the holy service Mr. Milos Janjic, student at the Faculty of Theology, University of Belgrade, was promoted into the rank of a reader. At the end of the Liturgy, a festal cake was blessed and broken, whereas the godfather of this year's godfather Mr. Djordje Brstina was  taken over by the brotherhood the Nadazdin for next year.
