Celebration of name day of Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus

On the feast day of Saint IoannisChrysostomos, Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, who was celebrating his name day yesterday, presided over the Archieratic Co-liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Ioannis the Theologian in old Nicosia.

Metropolitan Georgios of Pafos and Timotheos of Bozra, and Bishops of Christoforos of Karpasia, Leontios of Kytros, Porfyrios of Neapolis, and Grigorios of Mesaoria celebrated the Divine Liturgy with the celebrant Archbishop.

Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria, Bishops Athanasios of Limassol, Georgios of Guinea, Nikolaos of Amathous, and the Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Cyprus, Bishop Nikodimos of Nitria, were prayerfully attending in the altar. State officials, teachers and hundreds of believers also attended the Divine Liturgy.

The Archbishop thanked all for the wishes and wished them health and strength with the intercession of Saint IoannisChrysostomos.

At the end of the luncheon, the Archbishop thanked the President of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, and expressed his full support especially at this crucial turning point of the Cyprus issue. The President of Cyprus pointed out that his goal was to find a viable, functional and lasting solution to the Cyprus issue.
