Celebration of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist

Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan today on the day of Nativity of St. John the Baptist with the blessing of Locum Tenens Amfilohije of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija served the Holy Liturgy in the monastery of St. John the Baptist in Velika Hoca. Bishop Teodosije was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophor and the parish priest of Hoca Milenko Dragicevic, heugemon of the St. John monastery protosyngellos Miron, secretary of the Diocese of the RPKM presbyter Sava Smigic, presbyter Aleksandar Naspalic and hierodeacon Kirilo from the monastery of Visoki Decani. In the Holy Liturgy there was fifty believers from the villages who participated as well as monks from the monasteries of St. John and Visoki Decani.

Bishop Teodosije said in his sermon about this feast day stressing the significance of of the sanctuaries that were left to us by our ancestors.

After the consecration of slava cake, Bishop, priests and believers was served in the parish home, because today's holiday is also a patron's feast day of protopresbyter-staurophor Milenko Dragicevic.
