Celebration of the Patron of the Diocese of Backa

Faithful people from all parishes of the Diocese of Backa celebrated on Monday, September 6/19 2011, its Patron, Saint Michael the Archangel. This year's liturgical memory of the miracles which Saint Archistratege did in the city of Chonae (Colossae) was held in Sombor, on the St. Demetrius square, beside St. George's church. 

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by His Grace Bishop Pahomije of Vranje, with the concelebration of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa and His Grace Bishop Porfirije of Jegar.

Its slava the Diocese of Backa celebrates by gathering of priests and the faithful people, with service of its Bishop. Since 1971, mutual prayer of all the fullness of our Diocese has been served in various places throughout Backa. Because of the significant anniversary, two hundred years since the construction of the church of St. George, this year's Patron was held in Sombor.
