Celebration of Saint Kyriake in Ocestovo
According to a long-time tradition in the Dalmatian Diocese the feast day of the Saint Kyriake is celebrated in churches and monasteries which are devoted to this martyr each Sunday in the month of July. Sunday after St. Peter's Day is determined for the church-people's assembly in Ocestovo and every year the feast day of St. Kyriake is most solemnly celebrated in this place.
His Grace Bishop Fotije of Dalmatia with the concelebration of priests and monks of the Diocese of Srem and Dalmatia, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy (17.07.2011) in the monastery of St. Kyriake in Ocestovo and after the Liturgy he cut the slava cake and blessed the wheat. Following that there was a procession around the church with an icon of St. Kyriake which were carried by girls who are Orthodox Dalmatians, according to a custom.
