This year's celebration of Saint Sava in Zagreb began with the Holy Liturgy in the chapel of Saint Sava, at the Serbian Orthodox Grammar School Kantakuzina Katarina Brankovic, which was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Dr. Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana. 

The Metropolitan was concelebrated by Archimandrite Danilo, hierodeacon Venjamin, hieromonk Nikon, protopresbyter-stavrophor Slobodan Lalic and deacon Branimir Jokic. Then the Metropolitan blessed the slava cake and held a sermon regarding the feast day of Saint Sava.

The celebration was continued with a solemn Saint Sava program which was prepared by pupils and teachers of the Grammar school. The hall was full, and among prominent guests who were attending this celebration, there were: envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Radoslav Pavlovic, Mrs. Bosa Prodanovic, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Serbian in Zagreb with associates; Professor Dr.  Milorad Pupovac, President of the SNC; Mrs. Vera Sutalo on behalf of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Croatia; Mr. Boris Milosevic from the  Ministry of Public Administration; Mr. Slavko Kojic, the Head of the Finance Departmen of the City of Zagreb with the delegation of the City; Mr. Cedomir Visnjic, President SCS Prosvjeta; representatives of the Serbian Economic Society Privrednik; representatives of the embassies of BiH and Russia to Zagreb Drago Roksandic and Hrvoje Klasic. Also there were also present: military attachés of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia and Austria, principals of the Islamic Grammar school Mr. Mevludi Arslani and the Sports Secondary school Mr. Slobodan Matkovic, film director Dejan Acimovic, lots of priests and monks.

An interesting and creative Saint Sava Academy, which was organized by pupils and teachers of the Grammar school, was held. The Saint Sava hymn was sang by the choir Djulici of this Grammar school. This year's theme was light. Many famous  literary texts were used as an inspiration.

It was solemn also in church of Holy Transfiguration in Zagreb where the Liturgy was celebrated by the clergy of Zagreb.

The same day in the afternoon, Metropolitan Porfirije attended an opening ceremony of the exhibition of "Iconostasis of the areas of Bjelovar and Grubisno Polje" of the author Ljiljana Vukasinovic.
