Christmas holidays in Australia
Thousands of faithful Serbs celebrated Christmas holidays in churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church throughout Australia and New Zealand.
On Christmas Eve and the feast day of the Holy Fathers, Bishop Irinej of the
Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand celebrated the Hierarchal Divine
Liturgy in the church of Saint Hierodeacon Stephen in Rooty Hill. On Christmas
Eve, His Grace Bishop Irinej celebrated the Holy Liturgy in Sidney’s suburb of
	Alexandria.
On Christmas, one of the most joyous Christian holidays, Bishop Irinej served the
Hierarchal Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral Church of Saint Sava in Mona Vale in
Sidney. Following Divine Liturgy, the Bishop along with children cut the česnica
(Christmas bread) and young Luka was the luckiest one to find a ducat. On the
second day of Christmas, feast day of Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos,
the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the historic Cathedral of Saint George in
	Cabramata.
