Christmas liturgy in Serbian in Athens
After long 16 years the Christmas Liturgy was served in Serbian for our Serbian people living, working and studying in Athens. Thanks to the Archdiocese of Athens and Very Reverend Archimandrite Seraphim Dimitrios liturgy was served in the chapel of St. Nektarios at the church of St. Marina, the municipality of Ano Iliupoli (the fraternal municipality with the municipality of Novi Sad).
The Christmas liturgy was served by hierodeacon Evsevije Meandjija, a student of theology at the University of Athens, while protopresbyter-staurophor Nenad Mihailovic with students chanters. Except the faithful people the liturgy was also attended by representatives of our embassy in Athens and members of the Association of Serbs of Greece.
At the end of the liturgy the Christmas Encyclical of the Serbian Orthodox Church was read, after which father Seraphim addressed the faithful congratulating Christmas and at the same time expressing empathy for the suffering of our people in Kosovo and Metohia.
