Christmastide in Budapest

On the eve of the feast of the Birth of Christ, His Eminence Bishop of Buda Lukian with the clergy served a festal vigil service the Annunciation church in Szentendre.

Previously, the Yule-log was ceremoniously welcomed in front of the Diocesan Palace where the children traditionally performed Christmas drama presentations, reciting and singing about the New-Born Child Christ. On the day of the feast of the Birth of Christ Bishop Lukian officiated the holy hierarchal Liturgy in the church of St. George in Budapest. His Grace Bishop was concelebrated by archpriest Zoran Ostojic, hieromonk Varnava Knezevic, Archdeacon Inokentije Lukin and deacons Zoran Zivic and Stefan Milisavic.

During the Holy Liturgy, the Bishop ordained deacon of Zoran Zivic, an officer of the Diocese of Buda, into the priestly rank. At the end of the Holy Liturgy, the children from the Pest parish performed Christmas recitals, after which the Bishop presented them with gifts.
