Dr. Dalibor Petrovic, Professor at the Faculty of Theology in Foca, held a lecture on the topic “The Edict of Milan and Freedom of Christians” at the Spiritual center of the Lazarica church of Romanija at Sokolac (Bosnia) on Sunday 14 April 2013.

The principal of the Lazarica church of Romanija protopresbyter Boris Banduka welcomed on behalf of the Church-school congregation a number of priests and the faithful from parish of Sokolac and other parishes, emphasizing that the Edict of Milan was a very important act proclaimed in 313 by Holy Emperor Constantine the Great.

Professor Petrovic pointed out that the significance of the Edict of Milan for Christianity lies in the fact that  it concluded one period in which Christianity was a forbidden religion in the Roman Empire.

The lecture was held in the context of the celebration of 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of the Edict of Milan.
