On the Sunday of Antipascha (St. Thomas' Sunday), May 9, 2021, the parish of the Holy Great Martyr George, the Victory-Bearer, in Clearwater celebrated its Feast Day - Slava. The Divine Liturgy was officiated by the Very Reverend Protopresbyter Vladan Marić while the parish choir sang the liturgical responses.

Following the prayer behind the ambo, the faithful led by Fr. Vladan, completed a procession around the temple followed with the reading of the Holy Gospel.

After the Divine Liturgy, the faithful gathered were joined by Father Sasa Djurdjevic, parish priest from North Port, and Father Dragan Zaric, parish priest from St. Petersburg, in which they magnified in prayer the celebration of the Slava. Father Sasa blessed the Slava gifts of Wheat – Koljivo, wine and Festal Bread – Slavski kolach in honor of St. George. Father Dragan Žarić blessed the Slava banquet, and the children of the Serbian school, folklore and ballet school led by Dušanka Ivanov, embellished the celebration with a wonderful program.

The diligent Circle of Serbian Sisters, led by Marija Radaković, prepared wonderful and delicious food for all present.

The hosts of this year’s Slava were Vojislav and Mirjana Bilanović.

Christ is risen - Indeed He is Risen!
