Communique of the Committee which is organizing the funeral of Patriarch Pavle of blessed repose

The body of Patriarch Pavle of Serbia of blessed repose was transferred to the Cathedral church of St. Michael the Archangel in Belgrade, where Divine Liturgies and commemorations are served every day with Gospel reading.

The faithful who would like to do the reverence to Patriarch Pavle of blessed repose, they can do that at the Belgrade's Cathedral church which is constantly open.

The funeral  will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009. The Divine Liturgy will commence on that day at 7:30am at  Cathedral church. At 9:30am, the coffin with the body of Patriarch Pavle of blessed repose will be transferred in a funeral procession to  St. Sava Memorial-Church on Vracar, where at 11,00am the funeral service will be served. Afterwards the burial will be held at the church yard of Monastery of St. Michael the Archangel in Rakovica.

The Serbian Orthodox Church asks the faitful that, in respect of the tradition of the Orthodox Church to which Patriarch Pavle of blessed repose held devotedly, not to bring wreaths, but ,if they want, give a free will offering on behalf of the completion of works on St. Sava Memorial-Church, at locations specially marked for that.
