Competition for erection of a monument in honor of Stefan Nemanja
The Board for erection of the Stefan Nemanja Memorial brought a decision to launch a domestic public tender for erection of a monument to Stefan Nemanja, as well as of the Memorial complex “Serbian Middle Ages”.
Belgrade, 11 February 2016. - At the proposal of Prime Minister and President of the Commission Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, the Board expressed its intention to locate the future monument to Stefan Nemanja and the Memorial complex at the corner of Knez Milos and Nemanja streets, the governmental office for cooperation with media announced. The final decision regarding the location will be brought at a future session, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
At the constitutive session of the Board a commission was appointed to define a tender’s task as well as to prepare the whole tender process in order to launch it in the shortest possible time. The members of the commission are Minister of Justice Nikola Selakovic and academicians Ljubomir Maksimovic and Svetomir Arsic Basara. Also a decision on awards was brought, so that the first prize at the tender will be million Serbian dinars, the second 600.000 and the third one 400.000 Serbian dinars.
The session was attended by members of the Board: Minister of Justice Nikola Selakovic, academician Ljubomir Maksimovic, dean of the Faculty of Law Sima Avramovic, architect Vojislav Milanovic, Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, academician Svetomir Arsic Basara, City Manager Goran Vesic and President of the Commission for monuments, and street and square names of the Assembly of Belgrade Jasmina Mitrovic Maric, as well as deputy president of the City Assembly Andrea Radulovic and City Secretary for Culture Vladan Vukosavljevic.
