Dedication day of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Zemun
On September 21, 2020, on the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej presided over the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Church of the Mother of God in Zemun, which celebrated its Patron Saint-day and the 240th anniversary of the consecration.
Archimandrite Methodius, abbot of the Chilandar monastery; Archimandrite Nectarije, co-brother of Chilandar; Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev - head of the Moscow Patriarchate Representation in Belgrade and the local clergy concelebrated to the Patriarch.
Before the beginning of the Holy Liturgy, the Patriarch consecrated the icons of the Most Holy Mother of God of Jerusalem and the Mother of God “Of the Three Hands”.
The Serbian Patriarch blessed liturgical offerings with the hosts of the festivity, Mr. Dejan Krstovic and Mr. Dejan Dasic, and handed over Hierarch's Charters to the benefactors of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Zemun.
The Liturgy was prayerfully attended by Prince Filip Karadjordjevic and Princess Danica, director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, Dr. Mileta Radojevic, as well as by representatives of the Municipality of Zemun and quite a number of the faithful.
