Delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kiev at the celebration of the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Russia
Responding with joy to the invitation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, sent his Vicar Bishops Stefan of Remesiana, and Jerotej of Toplica to represent the Serbian Patriarchate in Kiev on July 27 and 28, 2021, at the solemn celebration of the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Russia and the day when the Orthodox Church celebrates the Holy Apostolic Grand Duke Vladimir.
The celebration of this great holiday will begin on July 27 with the traditional act of thanksgiving on Mt. Vladimir in Kiev, which will be officiated by Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine. At the foot of the monument to the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, miraculous icons of the Most Holy Mother of God will be exhibited: Pochayev, Svyatogorsk, Kasperov and Zimne, icons of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir with a particle of his holy relics, as well as many great shrines from all over Ukraine.
Then, from the monument to the Holy Prince Vladimir on Mt. Vladimir, the faithful people, led by Metropolitan Onuphry, hierarchs, priests and monks, will go in a great procession to the Holy Dormition Kiev-Caves Lavra where the All-night Vigil service will be served.
The next day, July 28, on the very day of the feast day, Metropolitan Onuphry will serve the Holy Liturgy atthe square in front of the Holy Dormition Cathedral church. On the same day, at noon, bells will ring in all churches and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
