Dormition of Most Holy Theotokos in Djunis

As before, this year the celebration of prayerful representation of Most Holy Mother of God in a most festive manner was marked in Djunis, the monastery dedicated to the feast day of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos. Rivers of believers who came in the evening to this sacred place welcomed His Grace Bishop Dr Jovan of Nis who served the All night vigil service.

Following the end of the vigil, aroun midnight, at the spring of the miraculous water, a place where the Most Holy Theotokos presented herself to a pious girl Milojka, the Bishop with priests read the acathist to the Most Holy Theotokos.

Although it was night, the whole monastery shone as it was a day. The force of the prayer discarded the darkness not only in the court yard of  the monastery but also the one in souls of the people. In the morning of the feast day the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by Bishop Jovan with many priests, and with a prayerful participation of many believers.
