Easter celebrations in the Cathedral church in Trebinje, Hercegovina

Festal solemnities of the Resurrection of the Lord in the Cathedral church of Holy Transfiguration of the Lord in Trebinje started  with Paschal matins. Diocesan Bishop Dimitrije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina officiated the Divine Liturgy with concelebration of the Bishop Emeritus Atanasije and the clergy of the Cathedral church.

During the Liturgy the Paschal Encyclical of the Serbian Patriarch and all the Hierarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church Church addressed to all the clergy, monastics, and all the sons and daughters of our Holy Church, wishing them grace, mercy and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, was read. After the Liturgy more than thousand Easter eggs were shared.

According to the rubrics, the Paschal Vesper was served in this Cathedral when the Gospel passage of John was read in several languages.
