Easter celebrations in Cetinje, Montenegro
The Easter Liturgy in Vlasi Church in Cetinje was officiated by the principal of the Seminary of St. Peter of Cetinje, protopresbyter-staurophor Gojko Perovic while deacon Dusan Bigovic was in attendance. The choir "Njegos" from Cetinje and graduates of the Seminary sang responses.
The temple was too small to receive a multitude of believers, and a large number of them stood in the churchyard outside the church. At the end of the Liturgy, Easter eggs were shared.
Great spiritual joy was offered by a children’s choir in honour of St. Maradary of Ljeska-Libertyville by chanting hymns for the glory of the Risen Lord. After the solemn Liturgy, a common Easter meal was offered in the premises of the Theological Seminary.
Bishop Metodije of Dioclea celebrated, after the Matins, the Holy Liturgy in the historical Cetinje monastery with concelebration of hieromonks and city parish priests. Pupils of the last class of the Theological Seminary of Cetinje sang responses together with the faithful.
At both Divine Liturgies quite a great number of the Cetinje faithful participated in the Holy Communion.
