Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew goes to Sweden

The Ecumenical Patriarch will attend worship events on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding and operation of this Eparchy, as planned.

During his stay in Sweden, the Ecumenical Patriarch is scheduled to meet with Carl XVI Gustaf King of Sweden, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and Parliament Speaker Andreas Norlen, as well as with the Lutheran Roman Catholic and ancient Eastern churches representatives.

The Patriarch travels with Archbishop Sotirios of Canada, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonia, Deacon Bosporios, Codecographer of the Holy and Sacred Synod, Panteleimon Vigas, Archon Megas Hartophylax (The Grand Archivist) of the Great Church of Christ, and Vasilios Grigoriadis.

The Ecumenical Patriarch will return to Constantinople on Tuesday afternoon, October 1st.

Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria was appointed Patriarchal Commissioner for the days of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s absence.
