The Ecumenical Patriarch departed for Prague

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew departed for Prague on Monday afternoon, accompanied by Archdeacon Theodore.

On Tuesday, October 15, the Ecumenical Patriarch will attend the proceedings of the annual General Assembly of the International Organization “Forum 2000” where he will give aspeech entitled “Recovering the promise of 1989”.

The Ecumenical Patriarch goes to Prague at the invitation of the Executive Director of the Organization, Jakub Klepal.

It is noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization.

During his brief stay in the Czech Republic, the Ecumenical Patriarch will be accompanied by Metropolitan Emmanuel of France and Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria.

He will also be in contact with competent officials of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.
