UK FM blasts persecution of Christians as report brands it ‘genocide’

The study commissioned by the UK Foreign Office has shown what it refers to as a modern-day exodus of Christians from the Middle East, with violence against them also spreading in other parts of Asia as well as in Africa.

UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt yesterday blamed ‘political correctness’ for failure to confront the oppression of Christians, which he called the ‘forgotten persecution’, citing the interim findings of a report commissioned by the Foreign Office.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Thursday joined the March of the Living, a 3-kilometer walk from the Auschwitz concentration camp to Birkenau in Poland, to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. The annual march coincides with Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) and marks the murder of 6 million Jews in the Holocaust. Participants in the March on Thursday, May 2, 2019, included Romania’s PM Viorica Dăncilă, the US Ambassador to Israel David Melech Friedman, representatives of the White House, ambassadors from all across Europe and other officials.

The faithful of the ancient Orthodox Church of Malankara celebrates the Catholicate day on the sixth Sunday of the great and Holy Lent (7/4/2019). The celebration begins by hosting the Catholicate flag followed by the Divine Liturgy. Nearly 2 million attend March for Life in Argentina

Nearly two million people marched on Saturday in Pope Francis’s native land of Argentina in pro-life demonstrations dedicated to defending the life of the unborn, and offering solutions to mothers in crisis pregnancies, Crux Now reports.

Although Catholic bishops, evangelical pastors, and Jewish and Islamic leaders participated, they were not involved in the organization of the event, which took place in more than 200 locations across the country.
