Melkite-Catholic Patriarch Youssef Absi visits Romanian Patriarchate

Patriarch Youssef Absi, the Melkite-Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, visited the Romanian Patriarchate on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was welcomed at the Palace of the Patriarchate by the Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop Varlaam of Ploieşti. After the meeting, Patriarch Youssef Absi shared his impressions of his “visit-pilgrimage” to Romania.

Reception for Patriarch and hierarchs in the Embassy of the Republic of Greece

The Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic in Belgrade, H.E. Georgios Djakofotakis, hosted a reception for His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, in his residence.  and members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, on September 23, 2021.

The reception took place in the spirit of cordial friendship between the two fraternal peoples.

Student Igor Jovanovic, nominated by Milos Jeftic, a religious teacher at the Diocesan Deanery of Pecinci, is ranked among the 50 best students in the world and is fighting for victory in the competition of all world high school students, masters and doctoral students - over 3,500 nominees from 94 countries, according to organizers of the competition, the UK-based Varkey Foundation.

Student Igor Jovanovic, an award-winning innovator, artist and athlete, on the recommendation of religious teacher Milos Jeftic, is ranked among the 50 best students in the world and is fighting to win over 3,500 of the world's best high school students, masters and PhD students from 94 countries.

Serbian Patriarch received Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Serbia

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Serbia, Mr. Isaac Asiel, in the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade,on September 20, 2021.

The Serbian Patriarch and Chief Rabbi discussed the role, responsibilities and common challenges facing the Churches and religious communities in the modern world. The audience was attended by the elected Bishop of Marca, Archimandrite Sava, head of the Cabinet of the Serbian Patriarch.

In a friendly conversation I initiated, the great director Lordan Zafranović presented to Maja Gojkovic, the Minister of Culture, and me a new version of the script of the film about the suffering in the Jasenovac camp, based on the text by Arsen Diklic "Children of Kozara". The realization of the film about the suffering of the innocent in Jasenovac, and especially the children, should be helped by everyone who has the opportunity. The theme of absolute evil, which manifestation is the camp in Jasenovac, is one of the eternal artistic themes that will never be completely exhausted.
