The annual session of holy synod will be held from 21st of October 2015 and it is believed that the major objective will be to develop various strategies to counter the declining number of Orthodox population in Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Orthodox has lost a considerable number of faithful to Evangelical and Pentecostal movements in the country.
