On the eve of the great feast-day and historical event in Bar, Montenegro
His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos of Jerusalem and All Palestine Teophilos III, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Aristarch of Constantina, arrived on 24 September at 5 pm in Bar, Montenegro, on the occasion of the consecration of the Cathedral church of Saint John Vladimir. At the same time His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, also arrived, accompanied by Bishops Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic and Dositej of Britain-Scandinavia.
As an emissary of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Metropolitan Emanuel of France, arrived to the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral on the occasion of this magnificent event. Bishop Jovan of Banat, who also came to Bar, conveyed a blessing from His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania. The Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church Archbishop Anastasios arrived the same day at the border crossing Sukobin, where he was welcomed by Bishop Kirilo od Dioclea with the clergy of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral and professor of the Seminary of Cetinje Apolon Miscenko.
Archbishop Anastasios was accompanied by Metropolite Nicholas of Fiera and Apollonia, Metropolitan Nathanailos of Amanti, priests Nikola and Irinej, deacon Spiridon and hypodeacon Alban. After the meeting, the Archbishop went with the entourage to Bar, where he visited the Cathedral church of Saint John Vladimir.
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej arrived in Montenegro on Saturday, 24 September 2016. He was welcomed by Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic with the clergy of Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral at the Podgorica Airport.
