Feast of the Beheading of St. John Celebrated at Shadeland Monastery
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, the Feast Day of the Beheading of the Holy Glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John, the Divine Liturgy in the Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God, located in the Village of Shadeland, was officiated by Hieromonk Nektarije, administrator of the monastery.
After the reading of the Gospel, Father Nektarije addressed the gathered faithful with a sermon on the greatness and significance of this Feast Day, comparing it with Good Friday, when the Lord Himself suffered, without renouncing our Heavenly Father.
All of the present faithful rendered liturgical responses and received Holy Communion.
It is truly a joy, and we praise God, that this monastery is being prayerfully resurrected.
Praise God for everything, through the prayers of St. John!
